Getting from Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang

The airport serving Nha Trang is Cam Ranh, about 35 km south of the city centre. Plenty of people discover this only after booking — the airport is not in the city.

The transfer normally takes 45 to 60 minutes along the coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh boulevard. The road is good and the views are better, but allow extra at peak hours or over holidays.

Your options. The airport bus is cheapest, running a fixed route into the centre with stops along Tran Phu street. Taxis and ride-hailing cars wait at arrivals; use an app so you see the fare first. A hotel transfer costs a little more than a taxi but earns its keep on a late landing or with small children in tow.

Easy mix-ups. Cam Ranh is also the name of a separate city — when booking a car, write Nha Trang as the destination rather than just “Cam Ranh”. Bai Dai, the long stretch of coast near the airport, belongs to the Cam Ranh area rather than Nha Trang; if your hotel is there, the daily run into “town” is longer than you expect.

The same applies in reverse: heading out, budget for the drive and for check-in, and remember there is only one main coastal road.
